If you already have your sunflower seeds, great! Here's how to plant, grow and care for your new flowers:

Sunflowers can be sown directly where they are to grow. The best time to grow them here in Queenstown is from September through to January (where soil temperatures are between 10-30 degrees celcius).

Bare in mind that your giant sunflowers are 'heliotropic', meaning they will turn their colourful heads to follow the suns path. Make sure you plant them somewhere they will receive plenty of light.

As you are growing 'skyscaper sunflowers' you will need to protect them from the wind - you may wish to stake them as well as they begin to grow. Feed often, water regularly and within 90 days you should see your sunflowers reach for the sky.
